  A multicultural society

The UK is a truly multicultural society. In every major city you will find shops selling food from around the world, places of worship for all major world religions, and speakers of many of the world's languages. There are significant communities from the Caribbean, the Indian subcontinent, Africa, Southeast Asia, China, Italy, Cyprus, Poland, Australia, New Zealand, as well as the USA and Canada.

UK institutions attract students from all over the world, so you will have the opportunity to mix with people from many other countries. A UK education will truly broaden your horizons.

A safe and welcoming place

The UK has a long tradition of welcoming international students, so you can be sure of getting lots of support during your time here. You may be allocated a personal tutor at your college, who will take an interest in your welfare and academic progress.  There will also be counsellors and advisers to help with things like accommodation, health, finance and other personal matters.
The UK as a society is also very diverse, with many different cultures and nationalities. In most large cities and towns you can find shops selling food from all over the world, including Afro-Caribbean and Asian vegetables, halal meats and kosher food. Similarly, all the world's major religions are found in the UK, including Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism and Christianity.
